Porifera

The Phylum Porifera contains many species of nearly lifeless sea sponges. They don't perform some of the basic functions, and are only considered animals because they don't have cell walls. Sponges also have no mouths, relying on filter feeding to gain nutrients. having no digestive, respiratory, or nervous systems, sponges are sessile, can't sense or respond, and have no pulse or blood.
